Review: Becoming by Michelle Obama

This is an interesting book. I had some Audible credits to use up, so I downloaded this without many expectations. I usually listen to audiobooks while I walk my dogs or do housework, so usually I “re-read” a favorite book while doing something else. That means that if I miss something, I don’t lose track of the narrative. In this case, I had heard many positive reviews and thought I would give it a try. With the Audible credit, it worked out to be cheaper to purchase as an audiobook rather than an ebook.

Review: On the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn

This month the TBR Challenge is to read a book that is part of a series. I wanted to like this book. I have read and enjoyed each of the earlier books in this series and have rated them a B or a C, but this book bored and frustrated me right from the beginning. The first scene is of the hero interrupting a wedding (you don’t find out whose wedding until much later in the book), and right from that point I was not really feeling the love for the plot. I am not a fan of books where people are embarrassed or made to feel less than others, and it felt to me that this is what this book was all about. The heroine deserved better than this.
